Darts Club were formed in 2001 by
singer/songwriter Rob Hughes and guitarist/bass player Dave Seabright,
both of ex-perennial Cambridge favourites Pogul Magee.
Having recorded the well received "A Fear
of Beards", acoustic cd, with Glenn Jobson (formerly of Slinky and Blind
Velma), the duo became a three-piece, with Glenn joining having played
organ on the acoustic cd. Glenn took up as the bass player for the band.
Joined next by Sarah Stow on drums (ex
of many bands) the first full Darts Club line up was complete and they
met the Cambridge scene with a fervour and fresh organic style.
"The Wind Factory" (2002) cd followed -
a much rounder affair and again received well. By 2003-2004, the band
were receiving more attention and released their first full length cd
album "A Picture Of Health". A fantastic mix of spanners and spikes and
bondage and biscuits.
Prior to the release of this debut,
Darts Club were joined by another ex-Slinky and Blind Velma musician -
organ player Simon Powell, completing the band's line up and enriching
their live sound even more.
