Den of Iniquity
are a Norwich based, five-piece, all original heavy rock act. Since
Jimi Nix took over vocals for the band in early 2003, they have been
going from strength to strength and will be releasing their debut LP
‘Mind Your Head’ in mid-February.
The Den consists
of:
Jimi Nix
(vocals),
Marty Harley
(guitar),
Adam Penny
(guitar),
Fred White (bass)
and
Sam Reece
(drums).
Their new CD
constitutes the Den’s first studio recording and has managed to
capture the energy of the Den’s live performance. With influences
ranging all the way from the Beatles to Iron Maiden, their sound is
particularly distinctive in that it combines melody and aggression in
equal doses.
As well as making
terrific music, the Den is also committed to charity work in the local
community and has done voluntary work for Canaries in the Community, a
voluntary organisation organised by Norwich City FC, as well as
raising funds for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital through
a charity gig put together by the group.
The band are well
established in East Anglia and are branching out, having been selected
for the Emergenza International Battle of the Bands first round, which
they will be contesting in London. Their first year has been a
particularly rewarding experience and, with the release of the new
album, is looking forward to what promises to be a bright future for
the Norwich act.
