THE OFFERING : "Light In The Darkness"
  • Nataline
  • Ephemeral
  • Vampyrrhic
  • Dreams Of The Read Chamber
  • Chameleon

Following up from 2001's "Three Broken Threads" cd, The Offering have clearly progressed. This collection of five new tracks shows that musically they have grown and developed their sound. Heather seems to be more confident with her vocals, Mark's guitar and programming is much slicker than before and Gary's keys give us rich warm layers that compliment and sew his band mates' music into place. This cd reminds me of a combination of 80's electronica, meets almost gothic folk with at times, throwing in taints of Matmos, with Debbie Harry/Tracey Thorn/Dido-esque vocals. Beautiful.

THE NINTH PLAN : "Erotomania" (EP)
  • She Got Good
  • By The Way
  • Erotomania

Cambridge's The Ninth Plan are a relatively new band but they have certainly found a strong foothold in sound.  The Ninth Plan's E.P. holds three simple but complex tracks - "She Got Good", "By The Way" and "Erotomania".  Andy's heartfelt vocals shine here with the band as a perfect soundtrack to his emotive lyrics.

MASHTUN GRACE : "The Good Blindfold"
  • Do Your Homework
  • Listen - Repeat - Understand
  • Undone

Fresh from their gig at The Boat Race with The Band Agency, Mashtun Grace are the mighty rock heavyweights (not just because of that Hammond), whose music demands you to listen with every note. This CD is a carefully picked selection of their masterpieces - "Do Your Homework", "Listen - Repeat - Understand" and "Undone" which shows 'the Grace off as a force to be reckoned with. Drew's vocals compliment perfectly the menacing riffs of "Do Your Homework" and "Listen - Repeat - Understand" and warm you in the more mellow Hammond "Undone".
