The best new talent in the UK

Regal Biography

Acclaimed by no less a judge than Sir Bob Geldof as "The best live band I've seen since the Sex Pistols", Regal are the much-needed antidote to the current plague of pre-packaged pop..
Formed in Cambridge at the end of 1999, Regal writes, records and performs all its own highly original indie rock/dance music and although their musical influences are many and varied…the sound is very much their own.
And just in case you're wondering where inspiration for the band name comes from, it's not an obsession with the Royal Family or a touch of Land of Hope and Glory…it's simply lager spelled backwards!
Line up consists of Guy Plumb (rhythm guitar/lead vocals) Trevor Crisp (lead guitar/vocals), Ben Harper (Bass), Adam Waller (keyboards), Paul Ashford (drums).
With their storming live sets, which encompass great presence and attitude, the band comes with a ready made and enthusiastic base of supporters known as "The Regal Massive".
And having played across London - including The Astoria, Rock Garden and Mean fiddler - in the past few months to critical acclaim (MTV's Rick Sky is a big fan) their future, as Sir Bob can testify, looks extremely bright.
An autumn mini tour of the UK is being held to launch their exciting new CD - (three tracks - Perfect Boy, Radio and Lead Balloon) and dates so far confirmed include Glasgow, Manchester and London. Miss these and you really will be kicking yourself!
